HISTORY OF BODYBLADE
Bodyblade, the patented, revolutionary workout system for fast, effective muscle strengthening power development, stabilization and toning, was invented by Californian physical therapist, Bruce Hymanson.
Hymanson sought to create an exercise regimen that would train the muscles around the shoulders without forcing the joint to initially go through a wide range of motion, thus minimizing pain. Hymanson has taken this effective movement and incorporated it into more than thirty expandable exercises designed to not only rehabilitate, but also provide a fast and fun workout for individuals of all ages and abilities. Since it hit the market in 1991, more than a half-million units have been sold worldwide.

ABOUT BODYBLADE
Bodyblade Physical Effects
The proprioceptors (receptors located in the joints, tendons, and muscles) provide feedback to the muscles, joints and brain. The muscles then produce rapid concentric (shortening) and eccentric (lengthening) contractions which result in highly skilled adjustments in the control of movement. This muscle fiber recruitment results in increased muscular strength and endurance. It also increases the joints mobility and range of motion, while protecting the users joints. It also enhances coordination, flexability, posture and the efficiency of muscle function.
By varying the position of the body or direction of the flexing blade, Bodyblade can target specific muscle groups throughout the body. This makes it a valuable tool for rehabilitation performance sports training and functional wellness. Coaches have found that Bodyblade helps athletes increase their skill levels and improve their performance. Bodyblade can mimic the movements in a particular sport and provide the required specificity of training.
The key to Bodyblades success in functional rehabilitation, performance training, and overall fitness is proprioception, power, stabilization, balance and coordination. Physical Therapists have discovered that restoring normal movement patterns and contractions to muscles that control joints seems to assist painful areas. This unique, oscillating action makes it an ideal choice for treating acute injury, chronic disability and post-surgical rehabilitation in a variety of environments and task-oriented activities.

Bodyblade is inexpensive, efficient and easy to store.
Cost: For as little as $49.00, you can start down the road to a stronger, healthier you.
Timesaving: Bodyblades efficient movements provide a complete workout in just minutes, so youre never tempted to skip exercise during your otherwise busy schedule.
Compact: Bodyblade is only a few feet long and a couple of pounds, easily fitting in the closet, under the bed and dozens of other places conventional weights and machines cant go.
Bodyblade is different than any other exercise equipment: With Bodyblade there are no weights or elastic bands that can break. You control the intensity and acceleration of the movement, which makes it safer and more effective than other equipment.
Bodyblade creates dynamic resistance through basic physics: Bodyblade is a reactive, oscillating device that utilizes inertia to generate up to 270 muscle contractions per minute. The greater the flex, the greater the resistance that is needed by the body to counteract the destabilizating forces delivered into the body. The movement therefore requires the user to contract his or her muscles in order to neutralize these forces.
Bodyblade is great for sports training, especially golf: Bodyblade is designed to improve the communication in the body for better hand eye coordination and position sense. Bodyblade will also improve the core strength which is vital in all sports.
Bodyblade burns calories without impact or heavy lifting: There are good reasons to do aerobic and anaerobic exercise to help burn calories and lose weight. The burning of calories via aerobic exercise is great for the actual workout, but also for the metabolic changes in your body at the cellular level. A more fit person, burns more calories faster and more efficiently then a sedentary person. The key is to change your metabolism and burn fat more efficiently then someone who does not exercise. The more muscle working, the more calories are burned even at rest. The combination of more mass and more power capability, plus a more efficient metabolism will change the way you look and feel.

Bodyblade is an excellent aerobic training tool: There are several size models which can be used for aerobic training. They come with a great aerobic follow along video guaranteed to make you sweat and burn the calories. Aerobic Bodyblade

Bodyblade For Rehabilitation

Traditional rehabilitation for shoulder discolation has had a success rate of only 20%. The body blade has been hypothesized to strengthen the muscles stabilizing the shoulder girdle by training the contractile tissue directly and also indirectly affecting the joint and surrounding noncontractile tissue when responding to rapid positional changes and mechanical energy.
A unique rehabilitation tool, the body blade requires the patient to generate oscillatory movements of the upper extremity. The body blade has been hypothesized to strengthen the muscles stabilizing the shoulder girdle by training the contractile tissues directly, and also indirectly affecting the joint and surrounding non-contractile tissues when responding to rapid positional changes. To produce the rhythmic oscillation of the body blade, gross muscle strength and coordination are required; this takes training and repeated practise. Traditional rehabilitation of previously dislocated and unstable shoulders has generally had a poor success rate in reducing further dislocation. There appears to be a theoretical framework that enhancing muscle co-activation may protect the joint and that noncontractile tissue responds favourably to repeated mechanical stimulation.
Bodyblade for Sport
Bodyblade is unlike any other piece of exercise equipment on the market today. Most other systems work on the principle of the user attempting to lift a weighted item or stretch an elastic band. The Bodyblade, however, works on the opposite premise: Once the ends begin to move, inertia wants to keep them in motion and it’s up to you to resist. Thus, the risk of injury through overexertion is greatly reduced.
It’s easy for everyone to use, from world class athletes to rehabilitation patients. With a fixed rate of 270 contractions per minute, Bodyblade will help you enhance your power, coordination and overall performance. Bodyblade is great for aerobic conditioning or for developing speed, strength and joint mobility. Bodybladeis a tremendous asset to your sports performance because it trains movement, not muscle. Rather than isolate muscle, it brings groups of muscles together as a team to perform with greater precision, accuracy and with less risk of injury. Many of the exercises you perform with Bodyblade mimic the movements athletes use in competition, allowing you to train your body to execute moves faster and with greater controlled force.

Bodyblade improves muscle tone.

While the rate of oscillation stays the same, the workout intensifies when the amplitude, or magnitude of the flexing tips, increases. Over the course of just one minute, the ends of the Bodyblademove back and forth 270 times, and that’s 270 times your muscles have to resist the movements. The resistance needed to control the can range from 1 to 34 pounds depending on the amplitude of the flexing tips. Bodyblade Sport Training

Why Use Bodyblade?

Bodyblade uses low level vibration and inertia to train the body. Bodyblade rapidly changes directions at a rhythm of 4.5 cycles per second, which translates to your body reacting 270 times per minute to resist the forces of the blade moving back and forth. We achieve this using inertia to challenge the body to contract its muscles to maintain balance, coordination, speed and strength.
This rhythmic dynamic stabilizing system of training is not used in any other exercise device as it is used with Bodyblade. Your body becomes the machine and the Bodyblade becomes your exercise partner. The harder you push and pull on the blade, the greater the oscillation or flex in the blade, which requires greater force output from you to neutralize the speed and movement of the blade. You have to start, stop and change directions of your own body while controlling your mass. This wonderful equalizer automatically adjusts to each one of us. The same blade in the hands of two different people will produce a workout perfectly matched to the individuals size, strength and muscle endurance.
Since Bodyblade is not dependent on gravity, we can assume any position with the blade relative to our body or with our body relative to the planet to train standing, sitting or lying on a flat surface. Unlike a device using gravityweights, springs, pullies, tubing and other forms of resistanceBodyblade can adjust the force challenge anywhere throughout the range of motion instantly by the user. Best of all, you can never over train your body. As you fatigue, you loose your ability to coordinate the rapid change in direction and automatically stop before you reach complete muscle failure.
